The Palazzo Mantua Benavides, dating from the late 15th century, was the home of Marco Mantua Benavides, one of the most interesting figures of his time: his ancestors came to Italy from Spain and he became such a distinguished professor of law at the University of Padua that he earned an international reputation as an expert on constitutional law. The 16th century collection of Marco Mantua Benavides is now at the museum of Archaeological Science and Art in Padua’s Liviano Palace.
